COLLECTION FOR THE PROSTATE PROJECT
Coomers are delighted to be collecting money instore for the Prostate Project and thank all our customers for their generous donations so far. Our June newsletter (above) reports on the amount collected so far.

Based in Guildford, the Prostate Project is a registered charity established in 1998. They support the Royal Surrey County Hospital, St Luke’s Cancer Centre and Frimley Park Hospital in funding facilities for the detection and treatment of prostate cancer and also for clinical research at the University of Surrey.

Their research initiative, launched in 2006 at the University of Surrey Postgraduate Medical School, has grown in just 18 months to become the largest charity-funded prostate cancer research group in the UK. Currently 25 strong, the Prostate Project Foundation team are already producing results of international importance. For more information, visit their website at: www.prostate-project.org.uk.

2009 AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE
We are delighted that Phil Burns from our Haslemere branch won the "Manager of the Year" Award at the 2009 Builders' Merchants Awards for Excellence on 20 November.

We are also thrilled to have been runners-up in the following categories:

- Independent Merchant of the Year
- Showroom of the Year (Bordon)
- Best Hard Landscaping Display (Oakhanger)

To have reached this stage is a fantastic achievement as, being national awards, we were up against some extremely tough competition.
